“We are thrilled and honored to have Nancy join our Board of Directors,” said Andrew G. Iwach, MD, Chair of the Glaucoma Research Foundation Board of Directors.

San Francisco, CA, June 17, 2019 – Glaucoma Research Foundation, the nation’s most experienced foundation dedicated solely to glaucoma research and education, recently elected Nancy S. Forster to its Board of Directors.

Nancy S. Forster began her career in technology, with 14 years at IBM, first as a systems engineer, then in marketing as one of the first seven women in a sales force of 5,000. Later, Nancy became a strategic-planning specialist for the introduction of technology into large corporations.

For the next several years, she led her own consultancy, Forster & Associates Consulting, LLC, providing strategic planning, technology planning, and research for a variety of major corporations. That led to her conducting research for four years at the MIT Sloan School of Business in strategic planning methodologies.

Currently, Nancy is on the Board of Directors at the California College of Arts (CCA), on the Getty Conservation Council, and is deeply involved with SFMOMA.

In the past, Nancy served nine years as an advisory council member for Stanford University’s Art Initiative. She is also the Vice Chair of the Bald Eagle Association in Park City, Utah. Nancy has held multiple community board positions in the areas of education, art, social services, and the environment. Nancy is also an avid hiker and skier, whose other interests include travel, photography, mentoring youth, contemporary art, Asian antiquities, Roman glass, and conservation.

“We are thrilled and honored to have Nancy join our Board of Directors,” said Andrew G. Iwach, MD, Chair of the Glaucoma Research Foundation Board of Directors. “Nancy is a dedicated volunteer and deeply committed to helping Glaucoma Research Foundation. Both her professional and volunteer experience will further strengthen our leadership team.”
“Nancy will be instrumental in our efforts to increase our fundraising activities and grow community support in order to advance our research and education programs,” said Thomas M. Brunner, President and CEO of Glaucoma Research Foundation. “Nancy understands the serious impact that glaucoma can have on a patient and their family, and the need to invest in innovative scientific investigations to find a cure. She is a wonderful addition to our Board leadership.”

Nancy earned her BA from Cornell University, College of Arts and Sciences, cum laude. Forster has lived in New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, and Boston, and she now resides in San Francisco, Carmel, and Park City with her husband, R. Patrick.

Nancy and Pat chaired Glaucoma Research Foundation’s 2019 Annual Glaucoma 360 Gala, raising a record $660,000 to advance our research and education programs.
