Heather and Phillip Van Lear: A Glaucoma Patient and Caregiver share their Personal Story and Low Vision Tips

Phillip Van Lear was first diagnosed with open-angle glaucoma in 2000 and progressed to an acute end-stage open-angle glaucoma diagnosis in 2015, which resulted in significant vision loss. In this interview, Phillip discusses his experiences as a glaucoma patient and his wife Heather shares tips and advice for being a caregiver for a partner with low vision. We interviewed Phillip and Heather at Glaucoma Research Foundation’s 4th annual Glaucoma Patient Summit in Oak Brook Illinois on June 25, 2022.
