Rick Halprin is the former Director of Professional Affairs at Aerie Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Bedminster, New Jersey (retired March 2022).

After several years in public accounting and consulting, Rick Halprin began a 36 year career in the Health Care Industry, holding increasingly responsible positions in Finance, Sales, Marketing and Professional Affairs. Rick’s experience in Health Care has been almost entirely in the eye care arena, and has included service in various US locations with companies such as Rorer Group, Cilco, Coopervision, and Alcon.

Rick has been responsible for glaucoma marketing and Professional Affairs over the past 15 years. During this period, Rick has worked closely with eyecare Key Opinion Leaders and global and US glaucoma societies (American Glaucoma Society, Optometric Glaucoma Society, World Glaucoma Association, etc.) in educational, advisory, and promotional roles. Rick is among the most globally recognized and respected previous commercial industry members of the glaucoma community.

Rick received his B.S from Temple University in Philadelphia and attended the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development. Rick previously served on the Boards of Junior Achievement and the Alcon Foundation. Rick is married, has two children, and two grandchildren.

He was elected to the Glaucoma Research Foundation Board of Directors in July, 2012. He currently serves as Board Secretary and is Chair of the Audit Committee as well as a member of the Board’s Executive Committee, the Research Committee, the Development Committee, and the Strategic Planning Committee.
